Review: If I Die

It’s the final Soul Screamer book challenge . . . so sad but on the other hand so happy that Before I Wake comes out in 7 weeks

So here’s the deets on IF I DIE, The cover of this book, I will say is Emerald, gorgeous Emerald green, and once again another male is featured on the cover but the question remainds . . . Is it Nash? Or is it Tod?

Here’s my GR Review:

Oh My God! I have to say out of all the soul screamers books, this one by far is the best in the series. It will be curious to know what will happen in the next installment of Soul Screamers: Before I Wake.
Kaylee’s time is up, there’s a incubus in heat seeking a child. Kaylee want every last moment to be important except she’s focusing on the fact that people are suffering miscarriages, coma and death. Kaylee’s love life have gotten more complex when she starts spending more time with Tod than Nash and that makes Nash feel unwanted by her. Sabine wants Nash back in anyway possible. This book is a roller costar that just had spun out of control! Kaylee dealing with the fact she going to die and everyone around her want to stop it hiding from the fact she is dying! It’s a nice gesture guys but she already living on borrowed time and is running out of time to save people from an incubus. The ending is so different from all the other books and it’s give the book a form of adulthood in a way and more maturity. I would read this book pronto! but be sure to have read the others first, it simpler to do so.   If I Die Rachel Vincent

Infusion Blog # 9

As I hope for smooth transition this week, after what happen last time . . . But NOOOO

My dear friend over at MidWest Immunology, accidently sent 160grams meaning 2 80 grams bottle shipment. I was orginally supposed to start my 80 grams infusion in three week marking June 1st as the beginning of my 4 week infusions. After having realizing the mistake, my doctor gave the go ahead to start 80 grams this week and begin my every 4 week infusions.

I was definitly bloated as results of getting all this immunglobulin pumped into me. So what I did today was writing my review on If I Die by Rachel Vincent, I also just relaxed before this big weeked I just had. My nurse Angela was awesome, we both joined forces dealing with the confusions and then getting the infusion started after everything was sorted. I also read The Last Echo because I was still currently reading it and finished it this weekend.

My friend Amy graduated in her program which was mine as well and the ceremony was longer than mine because there were more students, I also took pictures for her than having a professional asking 30 dollars for photos at the graduating ceremony.

Today I wore a off white sheer top, with brown tank (I was going to wear white but I decided at last minute to wear brown) then to add a little splash of color, I wore a blue feather and chains with red beading.

Between Month 3 and Month 4 of Soul Screamer Challenge, I was already ahead two months so I’ve been reading other amazing books. So I have to compose my thought on everything so far in Kaylee’s world.

In My Soul To Keep, Kaylee gets heartbroken by Nash’s demon’s breath addiction and the consequences were very high . . . Tod seem to be more or less involved with Kaylee. Of course he’s being quite because he was still struggling with the loss of Addy. Kaylee’s dad now sets the rules and join forces with Harmony because she deals with one living son who is on addiction and one dead son who does what he pleases.  In the end, Kaylee learns that she cannot trust Nash anymore and decide that they need a break from each other.

The next book is My Soul To Steal, it begins with talks of a new girl in school and the new girl is nothing ordinary. Sabine Campbell, she’s your worst nightmare . . . literally, and she came to East Lake High for one reason only . . . Nash. But Kaylee and Sabine butt heads over Nash and Tod tells Kaylee to let Nash go. While Avari still seeks out Kaylee, that’s not the only thing that Kaylee dealing with. Alec whom she saves in the last book also has memory loss . . .blackouts and realizes that Avari been possessing him. In the end Kaylee, Sabine, Nash, Emma and Tod are pulled into the Netherworld but good overcomes evil. Will Avari ever leave Kaylee alone?

Also note: “Fearless” in Kiss Me Deadly shares all about Sabine Campbell and in Enthralled “Niederwald” shares an Sabine’s desires and Emma being dragged along with as they both soon find out a fate unfolding.

I love the characters, the series and the romance that comes along with Soul Screamers. WIth IF I DIE next to read (currently re-reading) and Before I Wake (all fans anticipations of What will happen next) and Rachel now currently working on With All My Soul. We’ll have to wonder how this series going to end? How will Rachel end the series?

How my Cat got his name . . .

Year 2000,

We as a family thought about getting a cat . . . so we went to the local animal shelter and I picked up One cat name “Benjamin” and I just knew he was the one.

Two weeks later,

Dad asks what are you going to name him? I sat in the car thinking . . . the only name that pops in my mind was TJ.

Then Dad asks what does TJ stands for? Me . . . ThunderJam, it from a movie I’d watch . . . Mind of a 10 year old.

Book One reviews of Favorable Vs. Critical

Five Stars : Absolutely astounding

I’ve never come across a book like this in my life. The way Ana is torn between what she ‘thinks’ is right and what she feels with Mr. Grey. The author has an amazing way of easing Ana and the reader into the idea of S&M in a way that makes it seem more alluring than taboo. It’s possible I loved this book because of how much I could identify with Ana, feeling what she feels and understanding her fear as well as her lust. It’s a sharp contrast to similar books, such as Ann Rice’s Sleeping Beauty series, that throw you into the world of S&M.
I would recommend this even to those who consider bondage a little out of their range. Ana is a wonderful character, easily loved by the reader because of how real she is portrayed. Christian Grey is alluring and sexy as all get out made only more so by his own insecurities. Both characters are dynamic, growing with one another and forging a new path and relationship that neither of them understands or has ever experienced.

It read like it was written by a 5th grader.  If I had to read “inner goddess” or “oh my” one more time I think I would have poked my eyes out.  The erotic scenes were lukewarm, the plot was flimsy and the characters annoying.  The main character supposedly has never been outside the US but spoke like a British citizen.  This book dragged on for the sole purpose of allowing the author to make it a triilogy.  I won’t be wasting my money on the other two books.  What an overrated piece of drivel.

When I finished the first book in this series, Fifty Shades of Grey, I was very anxious to start Fifty Shades Darker. I have been an avid reader my entire life, but I’ve never read any books that invoke such a powerful feeling of reality and emotion as this series does. I had an urgent desire to find out what was next for Ana and Christian, I could so easily see both of them as being real. It was so easy for me to put myself in Ana’s place, to be her, to feel what she felt, and to think her thoughts. I know that I am completely enamored with a book and it’s characters when I feel as if my ‘real life’ gets in the way of exploring the world an author has set up for me, and that has happened with this series to the point that I am considering making an appointment with Dr. Flynn to talk about it. *grin*  These two people come together quite by accident, and despite their issues (or maybe because of their issues), find something MORE together…and truly, isn’t that what we all are really searching for in life?

I read the first and second books of this series and had to stop there.  Honestly, I wanted to stop after the first, but I find it hard to start something and not finish.  The writing style is HORRIFIC.  6th grade level, if even that.  Once I learned it was written as Twilight fan fiction, it made more sense.  I couldn’t imagine a serious author writing in this manner.  If I have to read about her “inner goddess” and how Christian smells, or how hot he is, ONE more time, I may fling this book across the room!  It’s just 300+ pages (per book) of sex and redundant cliches.  I’m baffled by all these 5 star reviews!

This series is one of the best series I’ve ever read in my life.  I’ve never read such a moving book ever.  In some ways I wished the story would continue but in some ways I’m glad the author wrote it the way that she did and ended it.  One thing is is that I wished that I knew what Christian was thinking throughout the story.  Since this is a first person book from Ana’s perspective; that’s all that we see. 
Hey E. L. please write the story again in Christian’s point of view.  That would be awesome.

Two out of Five Stars : Book 3 Not Necessary, Save your $$

Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the first two books (in spite of the glaring similarities to Twilight–down to the quotes). Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the first two books (in spite of the glaring similarities to Twilight–down to the quotes).  However I worked my way through it and kept reading.  Book Three was unnecessary.  Ana keeps swooning over Christian, her annoying “inner goddess” keeps rearing her head, and yes Christian still smells like soap and that Christian smell.  Ugh!  I bought it so I felt obliged to finish reading it, but honestly the book lost steam and there is very little real story here … very little.  All in all STOP at book 2!!  Otherwise you might find yourself being  more than a little annoyed with Ana, I know I did!

All I have to say is that if you want to read this book, re-read Twilight and imagine the sexual fantasies in parts where you think EL James places them. And I did always wonder what would 10 years later bring us for Twilight Francise and here’s my answer . . . the sick alternative version.

First book contains many confusion for Wendy, she never could understand why her mother say that she was not her child, now at age 17 Wendy at a new school and she get a sensation that somebody is watching her. Finn the boy who always staring at her finally droves Wendy crazy and demanded what was the problem . . . he refuses to say his reasons for staring at her. But when Wendy snuck out to chase Finn down after being in her bedroom lead her to find two people in dark outfits. Then Wendy and Finn head to Forening, Wendy meets her birth mother Elora who just happen to be the queen of Forening. Wendy leanrs she is the princess and now she has to learn her abilities and prepare herself for becoming the next queen. There’s love in the air between Wendy and Finn but Finn said that he cannot be with her . . . it was wrong to be with her.

Second book contains lots of uproars, Wendy and Rhys head back to Wendy’s host family and was greatful to see Matt again. But of course the Vittra were waiting for her to be left unprotected, then Wendy, Rhys, and Matt get kidnapped and taken to Ondarike the Vittra kingdom. What Wendy learns is that the Vittra King is in fact her father, hug shocker! Wendy espace with the help of Loki who have taken an interest in Wendy. While Wendy struggle with Finn hot and cold attitude, she training with Tove to help her control her powers. Then an arranged marriage is made for Wendy with Tove, according to their mothers’ Wendy isn’t sure if she want to be queen. Yes she’ll want to be married at some point but she wants it to be with the person she loves. Then Loki steps into Forening, and now he’s a bargaining chip for Vittra and Forening, until Wendy is Queen there should be no harm to the people. But Loki keeps telling her that she deserves everything she wants, she should be loved. Elora get ill after having to barricage Loki, then after Loki is return to Vittra he comes back for Wendy because he want her to marry him instead of Tove . . . a marriage out of love. With the ending being the enagement party of Tove and Wendy.

Thrid book contains love, war, and heart desires. Wendy prepares for her 18th birthday but all the while she heads up to her small party a huge knock thunders. Duncan her new tracker finds Loki at the doorstep . . . injured and passed out but before he did. He asks for amnesty, Wendy learns later that Loki was actually torture because he fails to bring her back to the King. Finn continues to be cold and hot to Wendy, leading her to confusion but the night before her wedding with Tove led to Wendy having to break heart because she didn’t love him anymore. Wendy and Tove gets married, Elora shares a touching story about Wendy. Wendy and Loki go to see the King for a truce, while the King’s twisted words they are lies and truth. Wendy and a small group heads out to Oslinna to help the town. Tove loses his mind and hit Wendy, then Loki and Wendy spent the night together in bed and Wendy get hearrtbroken when the next day comes along. Wendy mother’s passed away, and she becomes queen. Loki and Wendy shares a moment before Finn walks in on them. The war begins and Wendy and her father faces off but only to see Wendy watch her father kill Loki. Then Wendy kills her father and Sara his queen heals Loki. Four month later, Wendy and Loki finally marries only to find out at some point either duing their honeymoon she was pregnant . . .4 months pregnant. Then after a month of marrying Loki they annoucne it.  Loki had to spend two week in Vittra Kingdom helping Sara. The bouns feature in book three was the best, one year later . . . Loki and Wendy celebrates their son,Oliver’s first birthday. Wendy and Loki shares the moment of when they finally realizes that they loved each other, then kissing in bed.

This series was absoultely amazing, please trust me on this because this is probably something you never read before.

 It is a big accomplishment for a show to reach 100 episodes. A new freshman named Kathy (Cierra Ramirez) is 6 months pregnant and plans to give the baby up for adoption. Amy acts as her mentor.  Kathy lives with her grandmother.  Episode 100 includes singing and dancing…

 Other spoilers

In season 5, look for Kathy (mentioned above) to stick around, as Cierra Ramirez will be a series regular.  Michael Grant (Ethan) is also becoming a series regular.

Amy may go to jail. Secret Life has explored every possible heterosexual pairing among the central six teens (Amy, Adrian, Grace, Ben, Ricky, Jack) other than Jack and Amy; this spring, Adrian and Grace will explore the possibility they have feelings for each other.

In season 5, Emmy winner Leslie Jordan will appear, as will Haylie Duff.

Also what will happen in season five, if Amy and Ricky are still together and can forgive and forget whatever it may be that lead Amy to a hotel. Amy will be a senior and hopefully we’ll see a graduation and a marriage. Adrian should have meet someone by now and is devoted unless she and Grace get “together” Ben who knows and don’t care really. And if season five is the final season then let’s hope that marriage between Amy and Ricky works out and good news.

Infusion Blog #8

Well the start of the day of relaxing went into frustrating mode . . . It’s 10:00am and the IVIG still has not come up from the pharmacy. (I’m confused :/)

Finally a little after 10:30am, my IVIG came up and I found it odd that I just talk to my doctor about the time it takes for my stuff to come in my room. . .

So what did I do today during my infusion? I HAD to critique my group members from my speech class on their speech, that wasn’t too hard . . .

I had two book with me which is what I’m currently reading and I finished Desires of the Dead the next day. . . 

I was doing a lot of emails, and playing Yatzy

And I thought I took a good photo of myself with the pump in the background, the access being just visible and of course wearing blue.

Now you’re wondering why is there a map of Wisconsin, much less the counties of Wisconsin . . . it a new idea I have in my head but I still need to figure out what the idea will mean.

Now about yesterday I saw my doctor and my CSL Plasma staffs that works hard everyday to make sure their donors understand why they come in to donate. So when I told them that I would make a visit and despite the constructions going on, they were happy to see me and donors were enlighten to actually see a person who uses plasma. They were busy than the last time I was there.  

Desires of the Dead

Ok yes, The body finder book 2 was supposed to be read in May but I stop at a B&N on my way home from the cities. And I got the third book The Last Echo and that I will read in May.

This book took me two day to read! that beat my record of Twilight (book One) which was read in a week.

So here the review of Desires of the Dead.

 In the thrilling sequel of The Body Finder, Violet is back. No . . . wait I mean Violet and Jay are back. What happens in Desires of the Dead, Jay makes a friend with the new kid Mike, and meanwhile Mike’s sister Megan has an obtrusive thing towards Violet and an obsession with her boyfriend. Violet and her friend made plans to go to Seattle for some fun but an Echo pulls Vi to the Pier Shipyard. Now Vi, can never just ignore the echo calling her but what she does next get her into a mixed of confusion and trust. Sara Priest and Rafe somehow know Violet has a gift. During the mist of confusions, lies and trust, Jay and Violet have their fight about trusting one another. Now don’t worry they made up, now it was time to go to Mike’s family cabin and there is where danger lurks and dark secrets are reveals.
This was an amazing sequel to the series, now I only wonder what the next book has to come? Surly we’ll learn more about Sara and Rafe.  Kimberly Derting

 

There were a lot of emotional phases in this book, you know first love, first fight and of course “the first” Then Violet is mysterious watched by Megan who has a psycotic behavior and Violet finds another body and the FBI wants her to explain how she found it and they want her to work with them. Oh also this book celebrated Vi’s 17th birthday even though it wasnt a pleasant one.
