My storage room

And today I am a happy girl1 My misson today was to hunt down a 2013 wall calendar (which did happen) but I was also on the hunt for a bookshelf. Yes you heard me a bookshelf. I have dozens and dozens of books and not a lot of space/places to put them in. So what happens to all thoses books I’ve read or not top priority read. My closet isn’t for clothes and it hasn’t been for a long time, now I call my closet my storage room because that where everything is stored.

Finishing Touch

I do all my work in my room, and I’m still in the process in creating my own system of organization because I want to (Not need to “WANT”) I have a desk that get buried with paper during the school year (So sorry desk) but I spring clean it after every semester (See . . .  Kat can clean). One plan for the summer is maybe expanding my closet because my dad thinks we can and I hope we can.

Wait . . .  this was suppose to be a 2013 resolution right? I get I’d better get to that part.

Right now I’ve blogged about TBR pile challenge, so that is one and because this year sadly but not disappointed I didn’t read 50 books but I was close!

So that is one of my resolution . . . . Here are some other

  • I’ve been good with my health but now I need to do better for me . . .  I need to adjust my eating habits during my roadblock of having borderline diabetes. don’t worry I have it under control but I could change a few things.

  • I want to learn to cook . . .no for real I do want to learn how to cook. I will eventually move out and live on own and will have to cook on my own.

  • People want to lose weight right? Yeah well I’m starting with losing five pounds by May when I go in for my every six month check up.  So let’s hope I can do it!

  • I write books (Unpublished and undiscloses except for the main character names) I am now using Scrivener so this will get me one step closer in completeling this book that came to me at the end of summer (worst timing).  This book I’m writing is fun and challengeing but that all I can really say. I think I’ll be one of those Author where I say when the book comes up when it ready but we’ll see.

  • Now I would love to find a job but my state makes it near impossible! So hopfully by summer I’ll find one.

2013 here I come!

Oh drat! I forgot about my little photoshoot I had (that I did) Well there’s another reason to blog perhaps tomorrow? For now go and celebrate!

Best Book Covers of 2012

MERRY CHRISTMAS

from me to you, spreding the joy of Christmas 🙂

Let’s Vote! Which Book Covers are the best of 2012?

I’ve decided to choose US Covers Vs International Covers that were beyond my favorite.

So what do you like? What do you love? What don’t you like?

Before I Wake

Before I Wake (Soul Screamers, #6)Before I Wake (Soul Screamers, #6)What I like about these covers, are that they haven’t change the theme of each one. With the UK covers they are presented with a gray and mysterious look. The US fit the bill for all of the other covers presenting Kaylee in a dress.(Only a few was present in the books)  I was curious on what the color for Before I Wake was going to be because Rachel have quip that she’s doesn’t wear pink and therefore Kaylee was presented wearing a pink dress. Rachel Loves the Pink cover and went to find a pink sharpie so she can sign the books in pink ink. From what I can tell that it is a one shoulder dress. Its one of my favorite beside the Sapphire (My Soul to Steal) dress and the omnibus covers white (Volume 1) and Black (Volume 2)

I died on a Thursday—killed by a monster intent on stealing my soul. The good news? He didn’t get it.The bad news? Turns out not even death will get you out of high school…Covering up her own murder was one thing, but faking life is much harder than Kaylee Cavanaugh expected. After weeks spent “recovering,” she’s back in school, fighting to stay visible to the human world, struggling to fit in with her friends and planning time alone with her new reaper boyfriend. But to earn her keep in the human world, Kaylee must reclaim stolen souls, and when her first assignment brings her face-to-face with an old foe, she knows the game has changed. Her immortal status won’t keep her safe. And this time Kaylee isn’t just gambling with her own life.

Partials

Partials (Partials, #1)I haven’t read many science-fiction books until now, and what made me pick up Dan Wells’s PARTIALS book was based on the inguring  cover. The US cover remains me of an X-Files Theme or something I’ve seen on television on the SYFY channel that was based on the end of the world disasters. Both covers aren’t much different from each other and I could be happy with either one, I’ve seen the second book of this series and it is similar to the first book but has one extra character on the cover facing the future.

The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials–engineered organic beings identical to humans–has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.
Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic-in-training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws have pushed what’s left of humanity to the brink of civil war, and she’s not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will find that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them–connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.
Dan Wells, acclaimed author of “I Am Not a Serial Killer,” takes readers on a pulsepounding journey into a world where the very concept of what it means to be human is in question–one where our humanity is both our greatest liability and our only hope for survival.

Rift (Nightshade Prequel)

Rift (Nightshade Prequel, #1)Rift I’d personally like the US cover for Rift because it fits the story, the other cover is unclear for the concept of the book, yes there was a love story but that didn’t come til later in the books when the two characters admits their feeling to each other. This book was from the medieval time/era so the other cover doesn’t fit the theme.

Chronicling the rise of the Keepers, this is the stunning prequel to Andrea Cremer’s internationally bestselling Nightshade trilogy!
Sixteen-year-old Ember Morrow is promised to a group called Conatus after one of their healers saves her mother’s life. Once she arrives, Ember finds joy in wielding swords, learning magic, and fighting the encroaching darkness loose in the world. She also finds herself falling in love with her mentor, the dashing, brooding, and powerful Barrow Hess. When the knights realize Eira, one of their leaders, is dabbling in dark magic, Ember and Barrow must choose whether to follow Eira into the nether realm or to pledge their lives to destroying her and her kind.
With action, adventure, magic, and tantalizing sensuality, this book is as fast-paced and breathtaking as the Nightshade novels.

Pushing the Limits

Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)I like the US editon rather than the UK because you can see the slip cover enlarge on the book, but because I don’t know what UK really is. It is an IMO matter. The cover is so dark and brooding but I love it, I found it drawn to me and I kept thinking I had to pick this book up and read it. Best decison I ever made.

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with “freaky” scars on her arms. Even Echo can’t remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo’s world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.
Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she’ll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again

Finale

Finale (Hush, Hush, #4)Finale (Hush, Hush, #4) The epic ending of the HUSH, HUSH series presented a very compelling cover, both version are similar in image and font but across the seas, they use a red font color rather than white or black like the other books in the series. They did a pretty good job on keeping the gray-scale and featuring either Patch or Nora. This time the cover portray what happening in the book, a reach for the love of your life and you’ll do anything to protect him or her.

Fates unfurl in the gripping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Hush, Hush saga.
Nora is more certain than ever that she is in love with Patch. Fallen angel or no, he is the one for her. Her heritage and destiny may mean they are fated to be enemies, but there is no turning her back on him. Now Nora and Patch must gather their strength to face one last, perilous trial. Old enemies return, new enemies are made, and a friend’s ultimate betrayal threatens the peace Patch and Nora so desperately want. The battle lines are drawn—but which sides are they on? And in the end, are there some obstacles even love can’t conquer?
